Zurich Airport

One of the most important processes was the search for a location for the new baggage handling system at the main airport. Ground-level space was much too valuable for the head planners at the airport. In the end, the logistics arguments made by suisseplan and the costs won out.

suisseplan developed the idea of centralising stage 1 of the hold baggage screening in the pre-sorting areas. This concept has proven itself several times over since then. The advantages are becoming increasingly apparent these days with the big increase in the cost of EDS machines.
